Biblical Foundations for Life and Leadership

The Senior School at Emerald Christian College is rooted in a distinctly Christian learning environment, aimed at preparing students for both life and eternity. As they grow in Christian character and leadership, students learn to apply biblical principles to all areas of their lives, developing strong foundations for their future.

QCAA-Aligned Curriculum

Our Senior School students engage in a curriculum based on the approved Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) subjects. These subjects are both provided and endorsed by the QCAA, ensuring they meet the same academic standards and assessment rigour as other senior schools throughout Queensland.

Personalised Attention and Support

We pride ourselves on offering a high level of academic support to our senior students. With small class sizes, students receive personalised attention, creating an environment where they can thrive. This setting fosters a tutorial-like atmosphere, encouraging students to seek one-on-one support from teachers and receive regular feedback to deepen their understanding of the course material.

Planning for a Purposeful Future

Senior Education & Training (SET) Plan

A SET Plan is a document created by a Year 10 student, in collaboration with their parents or carers and school, to outline their learning and career pathways in preparation for Years 11 and 12.

The purpose of the SET plan is to support students in:

  • Setting and achieving their learning goals for Years 11 and 12

  • Including flexible and coordinated pathway options in their senior study course

  • Reflecting on their education, training, and career options after Year 12 and making informed decisions about their future pathways

  • Structuring their learning around their abilities, interests, and goals

  • Communicating effectively with parents and teachers about their learning pathways and post-school plans.
