Getting to School
Emerald Christian College is committed to making school drop-off and pick-up as safe and seamless as possible for families. Whether you’re walking, cycling, driving, or using bus transport, we have systems in place to support a smooth start and end to each school day.

Walking or Cycling
Families who live nearby can take advantage of paved bike and footpaths that lead all the way to ECC’s front gate. Students are welcome to walk or ride to school, and bike racks are available on campus.

Parent Drop-off & Pick-Up
We offer dedicated pickup points for Primary and Secondary students to ensure an organised and safe process at the end of the school day. Teachers supervise each area and will only release students to a parent, carer, or pre-approved person.

Missed pickups: If a child is not collected on time, they’ll be taken to the front office where staff will stay with them until you arrive.

School Bus Transport
ECC students have access to regional bus services. Teachers supervise all bus pickups to ensure students safely board the correct bus. If your child needs to take a different bus for a special reason (e.g. visiting a friend), the parent/carer must notify the school in advance.

Transport Assistance Scheme (Non-State Schools)
Families who live further from school may be eligible for financial support through the Non-State Schools Transport Assistance Scheme (NSSTAS). This government-funded program helps cover the cost of transporting your child to school if they live:

-
More than 3.2 km from a non-state primary school, or
-
More than 4.8 km from a non-state secondary school.

If your child travels by car or bus, and your family meets the distance and attendance requirements, you may be able to claim part of your travel expenses.
