The new generation of the Subaru Outback relies on well-known values: readiness for all roads and destinations, a spacious interior, quality trim and a large trunk. Now the successful adjustment of suspension and improvement of equipment adds to the given list. And disadvantages are former: globally - a little of the motor; locally - a little of sound insulation.

And as to the price, before speaking "expensive", just carefully study the price-list. In short, the new generation Subaru Outback is again a "thing in itself" for fans of the brand. Only one, but very important question remains: will the aforementioned values be able to interest new buyers? I'm waiting for your answers in the comments.

The Subaru brand does not have such a concept as "bare base". And even more so this rule applies to the flagship Outback model. Thus, the automobile is accessible in one of three complete sets (Limited/Field/Touring), thus in any you get: LED headlights, 2-zoned "climate", heating of front and rear seats, a multimedia system (11,6-inch display) with support of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, EyeSight complex, X-Mode function, rear/front/side view camera and 18-inch wheel disks. The differences are in the exterior trim, the type of rails, the paint job on the wheels, the presence/absence of a sunroof, Harman/Kardon audio, and the seat trim.

But the main thing here is not even the engine and transmission, but the common platform. From now on, the Subaru Outback is built on the SGP (Subaru Global Platform) platform, which is already well known from the XV and Forester models. Despite the preserved general proportions and shape of the sides of the predecessor, in reality there is a completely new structure of the body, which incidentally became stiffer, which should have a positive impact on safety and driveability of the car.

The running gear has changed noticeably. The suspension is the same in its design, but new in the components used: some arms are made of aluminum (to reduce unsprung masses), springs of non-linear rigidity are used and shock absorbers have changed.
