Mrs Jennifer Feeney - Business Manager
It is my privilege to serve the Emerald community through my work as an accountant and business manager at GEMS Christian Education. Before coming to Emerald I served as finance manager at Parklands Christian College and prior to this in various administrative roles in corporate business. Having studied both in my younger years and later as a mature-aged student, I believe that learning requires a relationship between three things to become a lifelong learner: that is God, families, and education
I believe that Christian education is an important part of any community, and remains at the forefront of the Church's calling today. Developing and mentoring students through education to reach their full potential as active and contributing members of society, is a noble goal and requires the support of a strong administrative team. My prayer is to see GEMS Christian Education and its students shine. As it says in Matthew 5:15-16, "Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl, instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven."
Mrs Nerida Wilson - Head of Primary
Nerida Wilson has had over 18 years of experience in education across numerous ages, cultures, and in a variety of settings. Beginning her career in Early Years Education, Nerida found her love for curriculum and helped train educators in Queensland and Western Australia in the National Curriculum for Early Years from 2012 - 2015. Following this came years of experience in leading curriculum, training educators, and managing Education and Care Services Centres in Western Australia and Queensland. After some time in management, Nerida spent a further 5 years as a lecturer, teaching adult and high school students business and childcare certificates and diplomas, as well as job readiness skills. Nerida has enjoyed her time inspiring others to be great educators and to give their best to their students. She often relives these memorable moments and shares her passion for quality education and teaching practices with her team here at ECC.
Nerida is passionate about a Christian Education that brings Christ to the center of not just the school but every lesson taught within the school. In her classrooms, you will see the students engaged in scripture in many lessons and the amazement of Christ's creation at the center of the subjects, especially science and HASS. She is devoted to incorporating a living understanding of Christ and the history found in the Bible throughout age-appropriate lessons in Primary school in all of their curriculum subjects. Her goal is to foster kind, hard-working, Christ-like students who know their Bible and have their own personal relationship with Christ.
Mrs Ramona Bundrock - Head of Secondary
Ramona Bundrock came to the saving grace of Jesus Christ over 30 years ago in a tiny church at Golden Beach, Caloundra. She raised her four children under the preaching of the Word and in Christian schools. Ramona's love for the Lord has extended to serving in Christian school settings spanning Rockhampton, Atherton, Brisbane and Emerald. Since 2003, Ramona has contributed her time and talents as a volunteer parent reader, tuckshop convenor and teacher aide. The Lord then led her to study for an Education degree and used her as a high school teacher in Rockhampton. This was a ministry Ramona used to teach students about God.
In 2021, God placed Ramona in the position of Senior School Coordinator in a Christian school in Brisbane. She felt blessed to be given the opportunity to guide senior students through Year 11 and 12 and onto university, TAFE or work. Ramona is also passionate about creating a positive Christian school culture, curriculum writing, coordinating incursions and work experience placement for students, mentoring educators and building relationships with colleagues. Ramona comes to GEMS Christian Education as Head of Secondary at Emerald Christian College. She has a strong desire to change lives, instill God's love in others and build an academic excellence that our students are seeking. Ramona is currently studying for a Graduate Certificate in School Leadership and Management in a post graduate capacity.
