Mrs Jennifer Feeney - Business ManagerIt is my privilege to serve the Emerald community through my work as an accountant and business manager at GEMS Christian Education. Before coming to Emerald I served as finance manager at Parklands Christian College and prior to this in various administrative roles in corporate business. Having studied both in my younger years and later as a mature-aged student, I believe that learning requires a relationship between three things to become a lifelong learner: that is God, families, and education
I believe that Christian education is an important part of any community, and remains at the forefront of the Church's calling today. Developing and mentoring students through education to reach their full potential as active and contributing members of society, is a noble goal and requires the support of a strong administrative team. My prayer is to see GEMS Christian Education and its students shine. As it says in Matthew 5:15-16, "Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl, instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven." Mrs Nerida Wilson - Head of PrimaryNerida Wilson has had over 18 years of experience in education across numerous ages, cultures, and in a variety of settings. Beginning her career in Early Years Education, Nerida found her love for curriculum and helped train educators in Queensland and Western Australia in the National Curriculum for Early Years from 2012 - 2015. Following this came years of experience in leading curriculum, training educators, and managing Education and Care Services Centres in Western Australia and Queensland. After some time in management, Nerida spent a further 5 years as a lecturer, teaching adult and high school students business and childcare certificates and diplomas, as well as job readiness skills. Nerida has enjoyed her time inspiring others to be great educators and to give their best to their students. She often relives these memorable moments and shares her passion for quality education and teaching practices with her team here at ECC.
Nerida is passionate about a Christian Education that brings Christ to the center of not just the school but every lesson taught within the school. In her classrooms, you will see the students engaged in scripture in many lessons and the amazement of Christ's creation at the center of the subjects, especially science and HASS. She is devoted to incorporating a living understanding of Christ and the history found in the Bible throughout age-appropriate lessons in Primary school in all of their curriculum subjects. Her goal is to foster kind, hard-working, Christ-like students who know their Bible and have their own personal relationship with Christ. |
