The town of Babcock Ranch launched a test of the first school bus controlled by artificial intelligence. An unmanned bus that takes children around has drawn mixed reactions.

Babcock Ranch is known in the States as the first city to switch completely to renewable energy sources - solar panels are used for all needs. And now the city is taking part in a test program by Transdev, which has developed an unmanned bus to transport children.

This autonomous vehicle has a capacity of 12 passengers. It travels at an average speed of 12.8 km/h and can react quickly to obstacles. For example, if safety conditions allow, the drone maneuvers around an object on the road.

Not everyone is enthusiastic about this experiment. Some experts are sure that drones have a future, but they are against involving children in such experiments.

In particular, there is concern that the school bus control system could be hacked, with the potential for tragedy. And even if there is a trivial accident without serious consequences, the fact that there were children in the cabin of an unmanned vehicle will cause a strong resonance, which in the end will only harm the development of technology.
