Engelie Nel

I was born in South Africa and grew up in a beautiful town in the north of the country. Ever since I can remember, I’ve had a passion for children. After finishing my teaching degree in 2001 at the University of Pretoria, I spent three and a half years in Taiwan teaching English to second language learners. This was a very challenging but enriching experience. I learned a lot about the culture of the Taiwanese people and have come to realize that we are truly blessed to live in a free western society.
I have been teaching at ECC since 2010 and feel honoured to work with a staff that is dedicated to growing and developing the next generation in a way that honours God. I have three lovely children and love spending time with them exploring the outdoors.
Teaching young children can be both challenging and rewarding. It is a wonderful privilege to see them grow and develop exponentially in all areas of learning in their first formal year of school. I love being in a position to see the wonderful things that God has put in the hearts of these little children, come to life!
